The Delmirev Brothers

Kriv Delmirev

Kriv is a good man in some respects.  He loves his mother and brother dearly, is more than willing to give his coin to someone who needs it and generally goes out of his way to not be an ass.  On the other hand, he's a compulsive gambler and risk taker, prone to drinking excessively and more than a bit of a ladies man.  Clever and silver-tongued, Kriv has made a hobby out of running cons, be it cheating at dice, counting cards while playing poker, or marking three dragon ante cards.  He particularly likes swindling those with more authority than him, feeling that the nobility deserves to lose the money since he knows most of them personally and thinks they're assholes.  He usually gives such ill gotten gains to people who have need of it, as he sees material wealth as unimportant and transient.  The laughing lady blesses those who share their good fortune with others besides, and given how many scrapes he and his smart mouth tend to get into, he needs her aid more often than not.  He does pray to both Azuth and Mystra as well, but he finds he needs Tymora's aid and guidance more frequently.

Kriv is a compulsive risk taker and can't resist an easy mark, particularly if they're of the nobility.  His refusal to run the same con twice leads to some overly creative plans that more often than not crash down on his head.

Kriv is tall, and well muscled, even for a Dragonborn and takes any opportunity to show off his physique, usually by wearing some more exposing traditional attire of his clan.  Despite the exotic look of his clothing, it is nonetheless made of fine materials and is fitting of his noble status, as are the many trinkets woven into his hair and attached to his ridges and the like.  He wears very little that denotes his status as a spellcaster, his rather notable crystal focus is either worn around his neck as one of his many baubles and ornamentation, or tucked way safely in his spell component pouch.  With his crossbow and quiver hanging off his belt and the daggers tucked up his bracers or hidden somewhere on his person, he seems more likely to be some sort of rogue than a proper sorcerer, a reputation he works hard to maintain because people who don't know he can throw the elements around are less likely to try and shank him first.

His blue eyes are a  striking contrast to his ivory white scales, and his hair is more main like than the odd dreadlocks most dragonborns grow, however, he still ties it back in that fashion to better show off his many trinkets and objects, though he'd never let it get bad enough to look like proper dreads.

He usually couches his spells in very simple movements, using sleight of hand to fake them out and use his arcane focus to whip them out if a situation gets rough.  His spells are keyed to a few words of power, minimizing the obviousness of his casting and allowing him to spring spells on others like he would a trap.

Kiran Delmirev
Cliff Notes
Kiran is well bred and can have a respectful and almost sweet disposition. He knows exactly how he's expected to act in most situations and he does so without complaint. However, his true nature is much colder and darker than you would expect upon first meeting him. He has no problem going for fast and ultimate resolutions to problems. If that problem happens to be his brother owing a gambling debt to unreasonable men, then he finds it easy to carve the solution into their hearts with the sharp of his blade if his tongue is itself insufficient. Kiran does not lust for blood, but he also doesn't understand why others find it abhorrent. While he wouldn't bathe in it if he has other alternatives, he sometimes doesn't see those alternatives until it is pooling at his feet.

Kiran is, for all reasons that matter, Kriv's older brother. Kiran was adopted by Nahazar and Kasaadi Delmirev when they were told that they were infertile. They wanted to have someone to pass their legacy on to and Kasaadi's brother Balin had just brought home an orphaned half-elf from his travels. When they did manage to have a son, Kiran's parents were overjoyed, but eventually the young dragonborn began to disappoint them, solidifying Kiran as their favorite child.

His brother Kriv is deeply important to him. He made a promise to their mother to take care of him and when he started to disappoint their father he made another promise to her to protect him from the dragonborn's scorn. The two boys stayed at home entirely for their mother's sake, not wanting to leave her alone with their father. However, when she passed on from illness Kriv decided to leave home, and Kiran decided to follow him.

Kiran is lithe with tight muscles that are well hidden under loose fitting clothing. He holds himself like a man with class and distinction and yet he still manages look people in the eyes rather than down his own nose. He has brown skin is as soft and warm as his smile and his long, silky, vanilla hair is generally kept tied up and out of the way. His amber eyes are rich and crisp, and his tongue and wit are as sharp and quick as the rapier at his side. He has a voice like smoke and velvet and has been known to sing for entertainment when none can be found for the night.

His elven heritage is obvious in his angular features and pointed ears. While he looks very similar to the haughty, but friendly, sun elves he could not tell you for certain exactly where half of his heritage comes from. It is only due to his rapid aging compared to that of an elf that he even knows he is only half. No one would suspect that he identifies more closely with his dragonborn kin than he does any elf given the graceful poise with which he conducts himself.
